A Pre-thanksgiving trivia question

Who said: “If you show people the problems and you show people the solutions they will be moved to act” ?

Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, stated these words which are also so relevant in revitalizing communities, particularly historic places. It is important to educate local communities on challenges affecting their locale, such as development pressures that will cause negative results in historic districts  or conservation areas and illustrating how they will be affected. Once they are educated and are presented with the options to resolve an issue, they will be encouraged to become involved.

Think You Know the Answer to this question?

Where did one of the earliest known city revitalization projects take place?

One of the earliest known projects included the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem in Israel and restoring the homes within it. It was led by a man named Nehemiah, a “high official in the Persian court  of King Artaxerxes I” in 445 BC. He was sent by the king to complete the project after hearing of the distress the people and city had endured and was appointed as a “provincial governor of Judah”. Through a  number of conflicts and hardships the large scale restoration program was completed in record time, only 52 days.
